Sounds like yet another "power hybrid". It's going to have a 400 hp engine, so it doesn't seem like fuel economy is it's goal. (Upon further reading, that's probably combined HP, but still doesn't sound like fuel economy is it's goal.)
Supra. In my garage. Now. Seriously, I hope this hybrid technology spans from the Prius all the way to the Tundra - with everything in-between "hybrid-ized". That is one amazing looking car - almost like it has a samurai flavor to it.
For years automobiles have been sold because of their winning records on the track. Performance sells cars even if you have to follow the slowest person on the road by design, people need to live the fantacy. Performance hy-brids will help to get other more fuel efficent vehicles on the road, thereby raising the average mpg of the fleet. GM? Ford? Chrysler? I thought so, too busy spending their money on managers that don't have a clue or want to bankrupt the company to break the unions. My Prius is a high performance car, high performance in the areas that make a difference to me every day. The hy-brid Supra will satisfy the posers.
If it's the FT-HS, bring it on! Hey, V6 consumption is still better than V8 or V10 consumption. Yeah, it doesn't sip like the Prius but it's still half of the gulp of a V8.
