My goal since I got my new Prius was to see just how good of a trip I could get. It's become a game, and I try to cultivate my pulse & glide technique whenever I'm not in traffic that is going to kill me God my best ever tonight - took my time, no traffic pushing me.....74MPG, woot! And I've got my best tank of gas going to date, with the consumption overing around the 60MPG mark. I am a proud newbie right now.
Good job. Enjoy the highs when you can & don't get bummed on the lows. Breaking "the barrier" never gets old.
Keep it up! While you won't likely be able to maintain these figures as overall averages, it is always exciting to achieve these mpgs over longer and longer distances.
It's funny how this goes. I am new here, and I was never into the mpg thing. But I guess I've been bitten by the bug. I try getting the most mpg out of my other cars as well. congrats on your 74 mpg.
Also got my best tank ever this trip, too. I got 4mpg better, I think partially from the advice on here about tire pressure. Pumped the tires up to 42 in the front, 40 in the rear.
