It is a great place but waiting and waiting and more waiting for posts to get activated is a joke. That is about 2 or 3 days now waiting for something to get shown, to bad of you are asking about a problem. Then there is always Google I suppose.
You have to have 5 comments to get your posts approved to protect us from spammers. So you're now cleared to post freely. However etiquette of it is that website has been answering everyone's Prius questions every day for 2 decades so if you need an answer it's easier and faster to use your preferred search engine and keyword Priuschat to get best results. People who ask the same question over and over again without searching for the answer first are annoying, yet one of the most consistent type of posting on Priuschat.
Ok, I understand, I am just not used to that way of working. I also know what you mean regarding people asking the same questions without searching first or using Google (as I do too). As I say, it is a great place but that of it is annoying but know why it is done. So that is me at 5 posts and now they go on when posted.
You're driving a 2010. While you're not using this place anymore see if there are any existing threads using the (presumptive) symptoms that you're asking about. (oil use, Prius death rattle, etc....) Good Luck....
I have an 07 t spirit, I am still tempted by the the gen 3 but have already been informed about shoddy interiors compared to the gen 2. And the hg scares me a bit, but seemingly a better built car in general.
There's a major design flaw with the North American spec G3s with piston rings and the EGR loop which results in blown head gaskets and/or hydro-locked motors.....at around 150,000 miles - depending on many factors. The G3's have a slightly shoddier interior but they're much better in other areas. Drive each and decide for yourself.
I changed it now, probably the reason I put gen 3 is because I was nearly getting one then decided no.
