My solar roof (Prius 2010) just shattered - I have no idea why, how or when (I'm the only driver). The edges all the way around crumbled, the rest held together but is all crackled. The guys at Toyota said they'd never seen it before, and the soft quote to repair is about $2,400.00. Has this happened to anyone else? I am very bummed!
We're you in/near the car when it happened? It just shattered spontaneously? Or you came back to your car to find it like that? The latter scenario would make it very much eligible for an insurance claim.
Given the age of the car and location, my first thought would be vandalism, though windshields have been known to shatter for no apparent reason in the heat here.
