…this is the right place, and apols. if I have it wrong - This is my first real post, so please make allowances. I recently bought a 2009 Prius, which I'm growing to really like, however this evening, having been out with friends, on arriving home, and parking I noticed that the SOC was down to two purple bars (I'd noticed there were 8(?) green bars earlier in the journey (on the highway). I live in an apartment complex and there are hills and lots of low-speed maneuvering for the last half-mile or so. I'm worried that this might be the beginning of something awful… Thanks in advance! - Wil
. When I first bought my 2011 Prius new I was worried that the hybrid batteries would run down when the bars became low. I called Toyota customer service. They told me not to worry about it that there were checks and balances that the computer would take care of and the hybrid batteries would not run down. I have found that to be true. Just drive the car and do not worry about it.
Thanks! I'm starting to really fall in love with this car! (48mpg on short trips around here (S. NH))
Just spent a the weekend on the South Shore, filled up before I left, ~56 mpg, 73 miles to summer house - 61 mpg on display (!) same route to return, slightly different traffic condx - overall (from fill-up) of 58 mpg. Oh how I LOVE the ChuggyPig!!!
