Actually it was a several week vacation, driving just over 1,000 miles each way, straight thru from the Rockies in Idaho to the corn fields of Iowa. Half way across Wyoming we encountered strong cross winds that lasted most of the way thru Nebraska. Driving 78 mph with the A/C and cruise control engaged, we achieved 44.5 mpg. There was a several hundred mile stretch where we drove at 68 mph, and registered 48 mpg. There was a time where the dash lights were not properly working, but after I replaced the battery in my NEW fob, then all was good. Mom and I stopped at the local Dairy Den (our small hometown) for a treat. Mmmm good!
