That's a good question. There isn't much information, but one thing to remember is that fuel economy was much worse in those days. It wouldn't have taken much to get those sort of gains. Engine control is much more sophisticated these days. Tom
They couldn't "acquire" enough $10K hammers and $35K toilet seats to keep the project running. Which is really too bad, I'm inclined to believe JPL if they tell me that they can generate hydrogen in situ and boost combustion. That of course is assuming that all the measurements are in one system of units......sorry, that was too easy.
