Any ideas on how I can limit the height of the hatchback opening on my 2010 ? I've protected the spoiler from hitting from garage door with a piece of foam rubber when opening it, but now that my car is 1 yr old, the spoiler is loose.
This is pretty low-tech, but you might try a piece of string from the hatch to the car body. I assume your garage ceiling is too low to let the hatch open all the way?
Like on a screen door, to keep it open? That might work, too, but I'm not sure how you'd attach it, and it might get in the way of closing the hatch.
You sure the spoiler really is loose? They all wobble ever so slightly. Either that or mine is a broken.
Yes....loose, the dealer tightened it today. It was so loose that it made a noise as I hit a bump in the road.
I started a thread last summer titled something like "rear hatch opens very high" (try a search) and there were several solutions recommended. I put foam rubber on the garage door beam, and being careful to not let the hatch open on its own, never had an issue with the spoiler, but there were a few who had solutions that prevented the hatch from opening too much.
