What.....how about HIS rights???? How about the 8th amendment?????? No body....no crime????? He was Abused as a child????? He was "protecting" his children? There is ZERO chance of recidivism...victims were his kids and he doesn't have kids anymore? Come on all you bleeding hearts....how will prison help society here. Those who said there should be no "vengeance" in punishment??? When he gets out in 38 yrs and kills a child again......what you gonna tell the parents THEN? Oh, even if he gets 38ys, he will not spend the entire 38 yrs...no one does. But why should the killing/abuse of kids be important anymore....it is SO easy to just "get rid" of unwanted kids....legal too!
I like that idea Frank Herbert had in Dune, where Paul got tested to see if he was human or not. The guy you're referring to would have flunked that test and, as an animal, doesn't qualify for the rights bestowed on humans.

From what I've heard, there are special places and 'treatments' for those who are in prison for hurting children. I'm guessing that he'll start hating life shortly after the second night.
