Inaccurate Gas Gauge When Not Topping Off

    On several occasions in the past year, when partially filling our Prius 2004 gas tank (e.g., half way), the gas gauge stays fixed where it was before filling on one or two pips. That is, the gauge fails to show the additional gallons.

    Took this issue into the Toy dealer and they said this was a known issue...that the gauge fails to show partial refillings of the tank. He said Toy was working on this problem, but at the time there was no fix other than topping off each time.

    Has anyone else run into this problem? Has anyone heard about a fix, either home grown or via the service department? :roll:

    No 'fix', it should adjust with at least 4-5 gallons added, but if you're going to put that much you may as well fill up.
