Does anyone have some new information on the Toyota 2014 Prius Sports Coupe? A Google search turns up many news articles, but from the middle of 2011 (about a year old). They all seem to suggest it will be rear-wheel drive, based on the next generation Lexus GS, have a manual drive option, use the latest version of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive hybrid system and incorporate a plug-in hybrid unit with lightweight Li-ion batteries that generate significantly more power than the current Prius, but maintain class-leading mileage.
I haven't heard anything on it. They're trying to bring the Prius brand to the mainstream market and a sports coupe is a niche market (they'll gladly point you towards a FR-S). That said, it's only a matter of time before all different automotive classes get a hybrid option and it'll be nice to see what Toyota comes up with when the time comes.
