Did you include X11 when installing Cygwin and run from an x-term? (It won't work from a Cygwin terminal.) Was there any error messages?
yeah the first time i didnt go through and sellect the dozen lirbarry makes / devs and x11's ... this time i am ...
installing on win7 ultimate, 32 bit, sp1 .... i got these postinstall script errors and said it doesnt mean it wont work ... but check /var/log/setup.log.full ... i also only had 15 mb space left on drive... ... Package: libpango1.0_0 pango1.0.sh exit code 1 Package: gcc-core gcc.sh exit code 127 Package: gcc-g++ gcc-g++.sh exit code 127 Package: libdb4.5-devel libdb4.5-devel.sh exit code 127
It looks like it runs something but notghing seems to happen .. I do have the USB ELM 323 plugged in.. win found drivers and says its on COM4 ... /cygdrive/e/priidash2_20121221/priidash2/bin $ run PriiDash2.exe if all else fails.. reboot windows...
OK maybe the disk is too full to finish the install. What happens when you click Start Menu -> Cygwin-x -> Xwin Server to start an x-term? If you can start an x-term then try to run PriiDash by navigating to the directory where you downloaded and unzipped it and type ./PriiDash2 then hit enter.
it wants to run but nothing happens.. no error etither .. i think the install is miisssing those last few pacakges.. can i djust install those last ones instead of doing the whole things over again now that ther has been space cleared >? .. i'm just gonna redo the the thing.... On re'running setup .. I was able to see versions or ones that were missing so .. hopefully when I selected 'keep' I didin't have to re'DL and reinstall the ones it sees already... ok this time I got ... less errors .. woo hoo?~ Package: Unknown package gcc-g++.sh exit code 127 gcc.sh exit code 127 libdb4.5-devel.sh exit code 127 pango1.0.sh exit code 1
Yes use the same setup.exe for Cygwin. Check each package is selected - it may already be selected from previous install so double check to be sure. Then run it - it should be smart enough to only add things that's missing.
just gotta bite the bullet and redo it As an aside.. there is no mention of weather the BIN and/OR the SRC should be checked .. and some can be one or the other or both .. do you just need the bins or do u also need the source for each ? On install instructions .. the last #9 says "lib/boost" .. there is no LIB .. it's called from the setup LIBS .... and boost is only available as 49 MB of SRC ..
redid the whole thing and still got errors with about a gig of free HD space ... Package: gcc-core gcc.sh exit code 127 Package: gcc-g++ gcc-g++.sh exit code 127 Package: Unknown package libdb4.5-devel.sh exit code 127 pango1.0.sh exit code 1 this is the correct place to get the setup from right ? Cygwin Installation
Yes that's the correct webpage. Strange I haven't seen those errors before. Try running PriiDash from an x-term and see what happens. If it still can't run then you may try deleting the downloaded package files (they may be incomplete when the disk space ran out earlier) and re-run setup.exe If that doesn't work then uninstall Cygwin completely and re-install it from scratch (make sure all downloaded package files are deleted first). That ought to work. Good luck!
I finally have some succes RachelPC7@RachelPC7-PC /cygdrive/f/priidash2_20120714/priidash2/bin $ run PriiDash2 RachelPC7@RachelPC7-PC /cygdrive/f/priidash2_20120714/priidash2/bin $ run PriiDash2_Lite RachelPC7@RachelPC7-PC /cygdrive/f/priidash2_20120714/priidash2/bin $ run PriiDash2VC_VC2010 Not sure what the dif. in vers. is ... No instruments or COM setup becuase the OBD2 is not plugged into car yet.. ... have to take the setup to the car now...
VC2010 is native Windows version that doesn't need Cygwin. The other two needs Cygwin. Yes it will show HV battery SOC. It also saves individual block voltage and resistance in a log file.
i was able to run the VCR2010 with cygwin .. maybe i should run without it .. but not getting connoctien .. should i use normal or usb2 or query mode on the connector .. win said com 4 ... for the ELM323 USB
i was able to get it to run in SIMULATION by making the folder that the CSV file wants to rite to .. but now to actually get the port to work , i am having that problem-- it wants some kind of tty file folder in /dev .. keeps looking for tty6 ... i made dev folders ... i'll keep tryial and erroring ...
I did set it to COM 4 -- i dont think i can quite get 1 mb so i set it to hightest in the ctrl panel at 914k or whatever and put tried the 1M and 2M and left it on 500K --- I'm not sure how far the car has to be on for this to work -- i cant go all the way to ready mode because it would try and start and something is currently binding , not to mention the oil pan is removed so I can't start the ICE. I can push the power button 2x .. and i can push the break and put it in N (still cant turn the crank more than ~ 1/8 turn) -- but i cant put the thing in ready mode or it will try and start !
the port has 8data No parity and 1 stop bit with no flow control --- at 912,600 bps (max) I tried ports 4,5, and 6 I tried on port 4 the Xon/Xoff and Hardware flow control as well as None (default) I always get the guage window to say 'window not responding' I wonder if the car has to be in the READY mode to send the data through ELM ....
No the car only needs to be IG-ON (but don't leave it on too long otherwise the 12V battery may be drained). I think the port settings (parity etc.) can all be left as default. The only two things that matter are port number and baud rate. I just realized the link to the baud rate setting instruction is half-broken since the PriusChat web site changed software. Here is a direct link: FAQs | Troubleshoot - Need help? Ask questions here. | PriusChat Follow the instruction in the link to set the baud rate and test connectivity with a terminal program. The baud rate in the Windows Device Manager does not matter.
