Hi folks, Today I was driving into a darkened skies situation (heavy cloud) so I switched on the lights. The instruments dimmed automatically as they should. However, I decided it wasn't dark enough for dimmed readings, so I pressed the switch that is supposed to restore the situation. To my surprise (shock!) the intruments dimmed further, to a level that was unreadable - all this at 100kph! Fortunately the ambient light soon cleared and I was able to switch off the lights and thus restore the situation. Later, when I pulled over, I checked out the operation of that switch. It turns out that there are 3 dimmed levels. To restore to daylight level, you need to press 3 times, the first 2 dim lower - the last press restores everything to daylight setting. I had assumed (from the manual) that the switch operation was a "toggle" between day and night settings - wrong! Anyway - now I know. Regards, kenmac
thanks for the handy tip. i have a feeling we will all be keeping the manual very handy for this car (if we all ever get one)
I'm pressuming you have the button on the center consaole to dim the interior lights? We in the US have a small wheel near where the EV button would be (is) on other cars.
on my recent 400+ mile round trip, there were several "daylight headlight" stretches, and i also left the headlights on during some straight-highway runs, too, for added visibility. i could barely read the display with sunlight coming through the front windshield, but spinning the instrument-dimmer wheel up brought both the LCD and the instrument panel brightness up to "normal" full on, and was very comfortable for the rest of the trip.... oops, i just remembered i didn't turn it back down.... see ya...
