    This company was founded by Dr. Hugo Eckener of the Zeppelin Luftschiffbau in 1916 at Fredrichshafen, Germany to manufacture gears and transmission for the great Zeppelin airships.

    Their transmission and controls are found on Fords, Chrysler, VW, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar and many other cars.
