I've noticed a lot of these copied-and-pasted pieces about the environmental damage EVs cause over the last couple of months. Now I've got a bit of an idea of where it's coming from. A cut-and-paste attack on electric vehicle batteries and renewables is spanning the globe. But is it right? | Graham Readfearn | The Guardian I particularly like the bit where notoriously-stupid Australian senator Matt Canavan shows the environmental damage done in mining the minerals for an EV in Chile, and everyone points out that the picture he's tweeted is a diamond mine in Canada.
Same tired trope we saw in attempting to trash the Prius back in 2009 (My Prius Review: I HATE THIS THING! | PriusChat). Only back then it was pictures of the Nickel mine in Sudbury, Canada in the 1970's. Fast forward another decade (and more) and now its disinformation from another misleading "expert".
