I have a question about the tiny accent light that shines down from the map light area onto the console. I am wondering if my light is misaligned. I previously had a Prius V which doesn't have those lights so I am not totally sure of their purpose. The light seems to me like it should be hitting the cupholder area. In reality its shining down onto the lower half of the screen (the big screen) which casts a shadow down onto the shifter area. The lower half of the shifter is then lit up. It just doesn't look like its aimed right to me. Perhaps when it gets dark I can go take a picture of it but for the time being I was wondering if you think this is normal.
Yeah it's supposed to shine on the shifter (started with the Gen 3). This is opposed to illuminating the shifter from behind (like the Gen 2) at night. It's so you can find PRND. With the Prime and the 11.6", the shifter is actually positioned lower than in the regular Prius (or base Prime) to accommodate the screen. Looks like Toyota forgot to adjust the light as well (or didn't want to create another overhead cover).
