I'm confused and I'm realizing that others are as well, after reading a couple of comments in other threads. I thought (and believe others think) that the special blue stitching on seats and turquoise treatments on outboard hvac vents are only available on the four touring. However, I have both of these options on my four (non-touring) moonstone interior with ATP and PCP. Its a very small thing, so its just curiosity that drives me to ask. Do other non-touring four owners have these treatments. Is it possibly thrown in with PCP and just not documented, or is my car a fluke, perhaps the interior was made for a touring and just incorrectly used on a non-touring? J
Thanks for asking! Hopefully we can find out the results in this thread. So you have both ATP and PCP, right? Which packages do you have again?
Black or Moonstone? His moonstone has the turquoise stitching and vent accent. If yours is Moonstone, then somehow, JB's got a special car lol. If yours is black, then maybe it's only on Moonstone?
I have a 4 w/ATP and PCP Midnight black outside, moonstone SofTex inside and I have blue stitching. I also have the blue ring around the A/C vents, which I love. Others have also said that they don't have that either. I don't think the blue stitching is part of the PCP because blue stitching isn't a "convenience," just more "premium". Neither is blue stitching "advanced" or "technological" (ATP). I really think that the blue stitching depends on the interior/exterior color combo.
Two loaded PCP Moonstone Touring's and I just noticed the Blue thread. Very subtle. Also the blue vent highlighting which I thought was an optical illusion. May be the moonstone interior is the key???????
Found this on the Toyota.com site, strange wording difference between the description in three touring vs. four and four touring. Does this mean to say that both 4 and 4T have contrast stitching, but only 4T gets the stitching in blue color? In any case, it appears to be inaccurate and also doesn't appear to indicate it is only for moonstone interior. And I see nothing here about the blue vent accents. Well this does say "preliminary product information", so I guess they changed their mind at some point. Go figure . . . J
Ahhh okokok. Because all Touring grades come with a black interior, the black interior on the Touring grade gets blue contrast stitching. Moonstone has turquoise stitching and vent accents. Maybe that's it! You get the contrast stitching only if you opt for the Moonstone interior option.
I checked the Canadian Toyota website, and it said that Black is the only color on the Tourings. In the U.S., the Touring can come with ONLY Black or Moonstone. The Four can come with black, moonstone, or beige (ugly) with all exterior colors except the blue, grey, and silver (which con only come in black or moonstone). So, now we're pretty sure the blue vents only come with the moonstone four and four touring (as ETP said). The stitching only comes on the four touring? My stitching looks like the stitching in this pic, but I have moonstone. Maybe they are the same stitching? Probably. It might just be an optical illusion because moonstone is brighter and the blue doesn't stand out.
I have the 4 w/ ATP & PCP. Mine is Blue Crush with the black interior. I have no interior vent accents or contrast stitching. It seems strange to me, because it would have fit perfectly with my car's color scheme.
I would love to have the same color stitching on the inside as my exterior color... Except with my black Prius. I love red stitching
So it looks like if you have a Moonstone Four, you'll get contrast stitching. If you get a black or harvest beige interior on the Four, you won't have contrast stitching. That's a very specific set of parameters. I'm under the impression all Tourings have contrast stitching (Black and moonstone)
Well the moonstone idea sounds right as you said I have a four non-touring and it has turquois stitching and vent treatments. And yes, I remember seeing the blue stitching on a 4 Touring with black interior. I believe you are correct Tideland. I just checked with my coworker who has a 4 non-Touring with black interior, ATP and PCP. He reports, "John, I do not have blue stitching (looks black) and the outer air vents have a silver accent". On the other hand, I have the same model and equipment as my coworker, except moonstone interior, and I have turquoise stitching and turquoise vent accents. J
I don't like blue I'm glad my four with ATP and PCP does not have the accents. RED? or ORANGE? I could have gone for those...
