Over the past few months my cruise control has been acting up. It seems to happen more often when it is hotboutside for some reason. The first issue is it will cancel itself as if I hit the beeak, but without me hitting the break. The second issue is after the cruise control has been set for a while, it will turn off and the light on the dash will start a slow flash where it is off for a few seconds, then on for a second. Sometimes I can turn cruise control off and back on and start using it again, but sometimes I need to leave it off for a few minutes before it will work again. I don't think it is a fuse issue because it does work most of the time and nothing else has an issue when this happens. Any suggestions?
It has been in an accident. Someone hit the back driver quarter panel, and I hit a deer 3 times at less than 25 mph. I hit it and it flew up, then again on the way down and it was pushed forward, then again as it was standing up.
Purchased a 2008 Prius with 108K miles. The window defrost buttons on the steering wheel did not work. After 50K more miles, the cruise control start working intermittently. It would work for 2 day and then not work for two, it got worse as miles went on. Sometime the cruise light would come on and then not go off. Sometimes, the cruise light would come on when in Brake mode. I took the cruise control lever off and cleaned the only two contact points available, no help. I ordered a new cruise control lever, no help. I then ordered a new clock spring, installed it myself, and fixed the problem. Cruise works like new and now the window defrost buttons work also. Cruise control problems, think clock spring.
