Morning, I joined the group Wednesday to answer a post but I really should introduce myself and our new 2011 IV Prius. We live in East Tennessee and this is our first Prius. We fell in love with them in 2009 while on vacation in Austin, TX where we rented one. Would have purchased that one and driven back to ET if we could have. The IV comes with all sorts of cool features and I really need to sit down with the manual some more. Did a quick scan to make sure of engine break-in (600 miles or so recommended) and for some other items. If there are others from ET, are there any plans for a get-together? Thanks,
Congrats on your new Prius and welcome to PriusChat. There is a TN social group on this forum, so check it out.:welcome:
Welcome to PC and good for you on reading the owners manual. There is lots of good stuff in there yet most people never read the thing despite spending $24k-$35k on a vehicle. :welcome:
One of us, One of us. :welcome: and enjoy your car. While trying to get the best mileage is important remember even more important is to enjoy the car.
Thanks for the warm welcomes. Not going to go crazy hype-rmiling as they run everyone over. Coming from a Honda CRV to the Prius has been great regarding ride and comfort. Mileage is just a plus for us.
:welcome: from the EU! Don't freak out about the fuel consumption in the first days - it will take some adjustment over time, while the Prius will change the way you drive... then the FE will go up, and up and up...
:welcome: Oddly enough, my Prius that I purchased in Bloomington IN was originally delivered to a dealer in Cookeville TN. Dont know how the dealer in Bloomington wound up with it. I spent many happy times in the Newport TN area...beautiful country.
