Good Day! I am a new 2018 Prius Prime Advanced owner, as of 3/31/18. Prior to my retirement on January 1, 2016, I had seen the Prius Prime models advertised and had focused my new car attentions toward this vehicle. At the time the Toyota site was talking availablility in 2017. I watched and in 2017 I could locate only one Prime in the entire continental USA. So I lost interest. Having worked for 28 years with a commute of 90 miles daily, I drove a gas sipper (2003 Honda Civic 28/38 MPG), but always wanted a hybrid. At 15 years old now, the Civic has 328K miles and still runs well, but all is not perfect. The car served me well and is being given to my younger son for him to get what he can from it... it will be an economy unit compared to his 2001 Chevy Blazer. When I picked up the PPA the other day at the dealer (they had one on the lot in my preferred Blizzard Pearl White) the Prius had 51 miles and a full tank, and no EV capacity... after charging overnight, the wife and I made a day trip out with our new car to get the feel of it. We got about 29 miles out of our EV range while using A/C and Radio... the wife was jubilant, not expecting this kind of performance. All together over the two days, and traveling 130 miles about half in EV and getting 53.2 Average MPG on the dashboard, but even after 130 miles the tank still shows completely full. Though I don't know how true or untrue that might be yet. Hello to all!
Congratulations on your new car @Phortunate and welcome to Prius Chat. I believe the 2018 Prius plug-in is known as the Prius Prime in USA and a forum dedicated to that model can be found Prime Main Forum (2017-Current) | PriusChat
