"24 Prius Prime XSE Premium, arriving 10/21/2024 in Southern California: JTDACACU1R139CP08. Checksum is wrong; The "1" after the R is odd; the C and P don't belong there. Thoughts?
The dealership will sort this out when the vehicle arrives. They can't legally sell the car if the Vin# has a problem. Once they can see the number on the actual vehicle they'll figure it out, but not until then. Also can you please elaborate on why you think there's a problem with the VIN # ?
More information would be helpful. It's obviously an incorrect VIN, so I don't know what you want us to tell you. I'm going to assume you put down a deposit on a Prius Prime and this was the VIN you were given of the vehicle assigned to you. Someone screwed up. Either they typed it in wrong or someone wrote it down wrong. Regardless, it's not a real VIN. A Prius Prime being manufactured right now is going to have a VIN that looks like this: JTDACACU_R30xxxxx (2024 model) or this: JTDACACU_S30xxxxx (2025 model) The _ will be a check digit from 0-9 or X. The remaining x characters will be numbers. Currently produced Prius Primes are in the high 20,000 range, but they're getting close to 30,000. As you can see, the number you posted here is totally wrong. 302xxxx - should be this (x are all numbers) 303xxxx - or this 139CP08 - yours
