Hello! New to the forum and to buying cars (my fam has been buying 2nd hand for awhile). I'm in the market to buy a Prius before the month is over, and I'm looking to buy a Spectra Blue package 4 (HK). Been trying to deal strictly online with Toyota dealers and I've been getting different pricing on Prius all over the Bay Area. My question is this, is it possible to get a car below invoice in the area? Because I'm trying to negotiate getting Prius at a dealer, and I told him how I'm able to get the car for $23,707 (without taxes and fees). He emailed me saying that "It's frightening because a Toyota dealer must send Toyota $24,074 to purchase this Prius. However, the old days haven't left some dealer's mentality. Just don't fall for paying for phantom extras like already installed security systems, paint protection, destination or preparation fees." Is that true? Also, is it possible that invoice price is different depending on the dealer? Also, that dealer I'm talking to (one who sent me the email) is quoting me $24,488. The OTD is $26,791.55 Is that good?
