I have a Prius III with JBL (no nav). I have my iPhone 3Gs connected via bluetooth for hands free. Before I upgraded my phone to os 4, everything worked fine. After the upgrade, I can't control the volume during a call. I deleted the phone from the car and the car from the phone and paired them back up, but still no volume control. Anyone had the same experience? Thanks
Same issue. Apple says it is an issue that resides with Toyota. Volume works on my Bluetooth headset fine and not with my car bluetooth. Called Toyota and they are perplexed. <y take is that it worked before and not after the Apple upgrade, that it should be an Apple thing.
Logically yes. But let's say, hypothetically, that the Toyota bluetooth is out of compliance with the bluetooth spec and so is the iPhone. But they happen to be out of compliance in such a way that they talk to each other. Now let's say Apple updates so they are fully compliant with the spec and suddenly they stop talking to each other. Who's fault is it? Toyota's for not following the spec, right? Now I'm not saying that's what happened here, it's just an example...
I'm not liking the OS4 update. I think it's slowed my iPhone 3G Haven't used the hands-free in the car, (w/Nav) yet to see if it's any worse or better. And, as I read, still no music navigation or display when streaming with BT.
My iPhone 4 synched up fine, but it seems to be a beat slower than my 3g in answering a call. I wonder if it is an iOS4 'feature'?
All is not lost! I discovered that while the volume controls do not work on the phone call, the volume controls on the steering wheel do! (not the volme knob on the radio). I hope this helps you too.
I have had no problems with the volume after updating to OS 4, but for a few days I had trouble pairing up. I had to remove the phone and re-pair it.
