My new iPhone 5 seems to work great with Entunes on my V 5 ATP - faster and more stable connections than my iPhone 4 so far. However, I was disappointed to see that the Messaging functions (reading texts, emails, etc) don't work at all. I don't even see the button "Messaging" in Setup that is supposed to enable it. Very puzzling since the bluetooth information screen clearly show that the MAP bluetooth profile is now present in the phone. Anyone else try this yet? For those of you that have gotten this working on other phones, is there any other step needed to enable the Messaging functions? Thanks. --Dave
It works for only receiving for me if plugged in USB, over Bluetooth the screen doesn't show incoming messages.
See the other thread, but do you have notifications enabled for Messages? It's linked to that setting, so that may be why you aren't seeing the Messages button light up. Air_Boss - MS doesn't support Bluetooth SPP yet, that's why there's no Windows app.
Phone works and I can do without the other apps. The track info and timing passes thru. There's no rationale for the audio not passing thru.
Good news. Messaging is now working, although I have no idea why. I see the Messaging Setup button and see and hear messages when they come in. However, I get an error when I try to use one of the canned responses; I think that's because the iPhone does not support this function. Also, Entunes reconnects automatically when I come back to the car, even if I don't launch it again. This is probably because the iPhone 5 has much more memory and so Entunes does not get purged as often. --Dave
In fact, text-to-audio text messaging and voice reply work via BT. Seems the only things INOP are streaming audio via BT and ability to connect/internet access.
I don't see anywhere in Entune on my ATP v 5 to set up messaging. Is that in some other menu on the radio?
Just connect the phone (Nokia Lumia 900 WP7.5 phone, in my case) via BT. Incoming text messages are alerted then annunciated via text-to-voice, followed by the option to "reply" or "ignore" via a voice-to-text option.
I am connected via Bluetooth. The Entune system works flawlessly. Maybe I need to adjust a setting in my Bluetooth connection.
Do you have "Show Notifications" enabled on the phone? If so, try checking the Messaging Settings. It's in the Phone Settings in the Setup Menu from memory.
It was actually under the Bluetooth connections. I had to turn notifications on under the connection that is specific for my Prius.
Now BT Stereo Audio and streaming music from the WinPhone work. Marvelous! Why now and not before? 1./ No idea and 2./ Who cares! Only remaining persistent fail is Internet; will have to debug an AT&T Wireless DUN connection due to lack of Entune on a WinPhone.
Dave, I'm experiencing the same issue with the Prius and iPhone 5. Were you able to get emails to work or just text messages? Are you connecting through Bluetooth or USB?
Just text messages. I use Bluetooth. I think ios 7 may add the capability for more kinds of notifications but Toyota would have to upgrade the firmware to enable them. I doubt that they will though.
I don't think Apple is pushing emails over BT, emails over bluetooth already works on ancient Blackberry devices. even some Android maker got it working somewhat. Bluetooth did spec it out.
There's nothing new for MAP in iOS 7. SMS/iMessage incoming only. Still no Reply support. No E-Mail notifications.
