Just bought a 2010 Gen 3 Prius. This is my first hybrid and I did a lot of reading here beforehand - and thanks for all the info. Cars are an expensive purchase here in Ireland, Prius especially. New price on mine would be €30,400 (over $40.000) which why I went for a used Gen3. The model-range in Ireland is slightly different and not as comprehensive as it seems to be elsewhere. I'd be particularly interested to hear the experiences of any Irish Prii people!
Oy, only us O'Sullivans, wait somebody dropped the "O" when they landed at Ellis Island, they did not want to sound too Irish!
:welcome: There's a few on but you'll find the forum a friendly place so ask away with any questions you have. The gen3 Prius is pretty much the same worldwide other than minor trim differences, so what will apply to a US spec car will probably be the same (or similar) to a RHD Irish model. There's also quite a few Brits and Aussies on with RHD Prii would might be able to help too. Hope you're enjoying the fuel savings. Oh, what's the cost of petrol compared to diesel in Ireland?
In Ireland you get the same specs as UK basically 3 models, T3 basic, T4 intermediate, Tspirit top, extras can be added to this such as leather,LED headlamps etc.
Petrol is almost exactly €1.50 a litre here and diesel has closed the gap to being just a few cent behind. Diesel drivers are annoyed because they were used to a larger price difference, and when combined with the extra MPG it made diesel very attractive. Having said that we have the second part of our austerity budget tomorrow (6th Dec) which will see rises in both excise duty and annual car tax.
