Apologies if this has been answered, but I could not find anything definitive here (or anywhere else). Does anyone know: 1) how long the standard warranty on a 2001 Prius would be under California law? I have seen 10 years or 150K miles and 15 years or 150K miles. 2) what's covered--just the HV battery pack or perhaps the inverter too? I had the battery replaced last year (and the 12V battery recently too), but Toyota said at the time I wasn't covered under the warranty. Now I'm not sure. And now my Prius died with a 3125 trouble code, which indicates an inverter problem. :-( Thanks for any help.
No. Since 1st gen Prius was not AT-PZEV, it didn't have the 10 year/150K mile HV battery warranty. That didn't start (AFAIK) until the Gen 2 (04+ model year). I don't think the inverter is covered under any long warranty. Don't you have your warranty booklet?
I don't know when the 2001 MY ended but your car looks like it is too old. What is the original in-service date?
I have a 2001. You would have to have an unusually bizarre situation for any part of the car to still be under warranty. 10 years is the max for hybrid components, which includes both the battery and inverter.
