If I buy a brand new, never used Prius smart key, is there a way for me to add this key to my Prius with full SKS functionality without going to the dealer/automotive locksmith/someone with Techstream? I have read one thread on here ("Finally! How to program a SKS key fob with SKS functionality") where one person has reported success in programming a brand new smart key by themselves without Techstream... unfortunately the attachment pdf with the directions aren't available anymore. I understand that USED smart keys (silver logo) bought off ebay will only function as a "dumb" key (black logo) without Techstream. But what about if I had a brand new, never used smart key? Has anyone had any success adding an extra smart key with full SKS functionality to their Prius? Is Techstream the only way to do this?
