I hope this isn't bad car buying karma or anything for posting this info, but this is the first car I will have ever bought and I'm a noob with the whole process. I went into the dealership today and was initially quoted MSRP and then I gave them a number to beat and the sale man and I came up with low $33k and they accepted. They also recommended the 7 year/100k mile warranty for $2,995. Is that the usual price for the extended bumper to bumper warranty? The lowest internet bids I've been receiving were around high $33k. I know the invoice, based on TrueCar.com and Cars.com is around mid $31k with out the destination fee and mid $32k with the destination fee. What do you think?
I'd offer the mid 32 invoice price and $2995 for the warranty is just ridiculous. First of all ... you don't need it ... second ... you can buy it here from at least one person for about $1000. I wouldn't buy it either way. REV
