(Pg 53.) My Old Man spoke about seeing this device in use in England, where he had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII. Mother Earth News did an article on this back in the '70s. I can't find it on line.
I believe some cars at the dawn of the automotive age ran this way. While firewood is carbon neutral, it's also very dirty.
yep, that is all we need, something that will encourage cutting down more trees. now if we could use only waste wood, by products of current forestry products, well then ok fine. but i am pretty sure that there is already an ongoing use for that stuff already.
Don't worry. This isn't going to catch on. The two fireboxes have to be loaded with wood, and I'll bet it goes about five or ten miles on a "charge."
