Hello everyone, Loving the car, but I'm having an issue trying to get an older iPod (like iPod 2) to connect to my car. It keeps saying it can't recognize/connect to it. The iPod just continues to charge (even though it was just completely charged). I'm plugging it in using the USB inside of the console. Is there anything I can do? 2012 Type II Prius Thanks in advance.
I actually just posted the same issue here yesterday. I have an iPod Nano 2nd generation, 4GB. The firmware is up to date; I've even performed a full iPod restore through iTunes, (just yesterday). I have a 2012 Prius 4 with Navi/Entune. I don't even get a message regarding incompatibility. For me, nothing happens at all. Using the same iPod cable, I plugged in an iTouch iPod (somebody else's) and it worked perfectly fine. The iPod source appeared in the Audio menu, and the music played through perfectly. But, for my 2nd gen Nano, the iPod just charges and nothing happens on the display. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
I just found the answer to my problem and it might be the same answer for you, if you have an iPod Nano, 2nd generation. Unfortunately, Toyota doesn't support the 2nd generation iPod Nano according to their Audio System Operation - Quick Reference guide (iPod section, page 145). Below is a link to the PDF from Toyota with a complete list of supported iPod models and firmware versions: Toyota 2012 Universal Display Audio System Owners Manual (OM33A02U)
