The Solar-powered cooling option requires the moonroof, true? Does anyone know the details? For example, does it draw outside air through the cabin air filter? Does the moonroof have to be open to exhaust the air?
I doubt very seriously the moon roof need to be opened - that would compromise vehicle security. Every late mosel car on the road has an external vent in the rear with a one-way flapper. It's purpose is to allow you to draw air in through the vents with thw windows rolled up - just like using the defroster in the winter.
Good point. I was thinking of some distance that would not compromise security, say an inch, and including baffles to prevent line-of-sight and rain entry. Exhausting at the highest point in the cabin would be the most effective. The point of a moonroof as opposed to a Sunroof is that it can't be opened enough to admit a person, true? Or am I confused?
I use the terms interchangeably. But I understand that the original distinction was that a moonroof has a sliding glass panel while a sunroof has a sliding metal panel.
