My cousin recently drove my prius and he is a bit heavy handed. It seems he pushed the emergency button to hard and got them stuck. Does this drain the battery? I am getting the error code: "Aux. Battery low, when parking, park in flat place and apply parking brake securely". How do I fix this? Can I unjam the buttons or do i need to get a replacement part?
it sounds like it, i would start with a 12v measurement and charge if necessary. what is the emergency button, the flashers? which buttons are stuck? you could try prying them with a small flat bladed screwdriver
That button causes all four turn signals to flash. This is a current drain and will discharge the 12v battery if it is stuck on. You either need to replace the switch or disconnect the wire to the switch to save your battery.
Those three buttons and the hazard button below them are all one combined button assembly (seen with callout 84012 in the lower right, here). What it looks like to me is that your cousin didn't do anything more than poke that whole assembly partially out of the finish panel (55404D) that it clips into. The first thing I would try is just removing that panel (super easy, it just pops straight up, start along the left edge) and see if you can clip that switch assembly back into it straight. It should just snap back into place, unless your cuz snapped one of the tabs off or something.
