Read this fascinating article on Jay Leno. But the really neat part is the box on the left that lists how green his garage is. Wind and solar on the roof is just part of it. Really interesting. I sure wish one of the So. Cal Prius clubs could arrange a tour of his garage with maybe his chief mechanic. Show us the Baker electric and any other EVs or alternative fuel cars or bikes and then show us the generator and talk about the green stuff. I'll bet it would be fascinating.
Yeah, but I also read Jay Leno Talks Cars, Alternative Fuels, and Lost Technology | Green Car .com where he isn't that impressed with EVs.
What he doesn't go into is yea, it get's 30-40mpg, but just how friendly is it on the environment? ...especially that last 2-stroke.
I thought the giant ultra-sound jewelry cleaner that cleans the carbuerators without caustic chemicals was really neat. 54 kwh. Well, there's the machines. And I wonder how many lights it takes to light three aircraft hangars. It could be a whole lot worse. At least he's looking at minimizing his footprint and being as environmentally friendly as he can. How many machine shops and car places don't even come close? He donates a lot to charity too.
Leno seems to be working fine. I'd say he doesn't have to work a day in his life anymore if he chose. He banks his Tonight Show pay and lives off his comedy stand up pay. When he goes out to eat he uses coupons. I'll bet he could give Bill Nye and Ed Begley Jr a run for their money. His home isn't mentioned but I'll bet it matches his garage.
