Hi guys.just purchased 2013 prius Jdm.found couple of parts in glove compartment.part No are.PP+E 55878-47030 and the other one is PP/PE 64721>47030.any help would be appreciated.
Couldn't find anything online. Do to have a picture, or at very least a description of what they're like?
Hi RCO.thanks for trying.here is the picture.going nutts trying to figure out.May I remind you it's a Jdm 2013 prius S.
Thanks for that. They look to me like they could be blanking plates for some aperture. I'll ask one of the others. @Tideland Prius , can you help AliPK identify his loose glove box items in his Gen 3 please?
Hmm, well I see nothing of the sort in my Canadian-spec car. My glovebox is stamped with PP+E and a whole bunch of numbers. I'm wondering if maybe the JDM Prius has additional covers to hide the wires when you open the glovebox while the Canadian/US spec cars don't. That might be the part with the photo you attached. The curved part makes me think it's something do with the glovebox as it opens. It could be a guide/rail (whilst our cars don't have any guidelines or rails. They just fall to a stop point that's part of the plastic frame as the tabs on the glovebox rest on the frame).
I can’t help with the part numbers, but PP-E and PP+PE are codes for the plastics used to make the parts, so they can be sorted for recycling when the car is scrapped. PP-E means expandable polypropylene, and PP+PE means a blend of polypropylene and polyethylene. Similar codes are used on plastic parts in the computer industry; see this HP document for an explanation.
