Where: The old Jungle Habitat area behind the Crosswinds Cafe Apparently there are about 26 miles of paved roads to explore in the old Jungle Habitat located in West Milford. The riders on the Priuschat cycling team invite ALL bicycle riders of all abilities to come explore the area with us. Info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jungle_Habitat Lunch at the Greenwood Lake Airport Cafe after the ride!
If you don't know what this is all about, look here: http://home.ptd.net/~dcronin/index2.html It closed in the 70s but is still open for walking and riding bikes.
We will be cruising around exploring whatever we find paved back there but will meet back at the cafe at Noon. There are 5 or 6 riders so far! Will you come meet us for lunch?
Oh dear! I still haven't learned how to be in 2 places at the same time.... my function is in hamilton at 11 am...... hopefully next time...! any chance of something in the afternoon on the21st???????
We had 4 bike riders today - did some exploring and found lots of huge abandoned parking lots and nice wide car-free areas to ride. We will be back again but with mountain bikes or hybrid bikes, since the pavement is about 20 years old and non-maintained. Did about 8 miles of exploring in there. We Also went up further north to Chester, NY and rode on a great 10-mile all flat bike path that was were an old train track was. so chalk up another 20 miles (to the end and back) for our training rides.
