Interestingly enough, when I mentioned on another forum that I was getting a Prius, they pointed me to this forum...so here I am. Anyway, after getting 23-26 mpg in my '06 Subaru Forester, I'm looking forward to doubling that in the Prius. I have an 80 mile daily commute, some of which is spent doing 70+ mph to keep up with traffic, but the majority of which is spent in stop-and-go traffic. I know that neither of those situations is ideal for any car, but I'm hoping the Prius will handle it well enough. As I mentioned, I bought a 2012 c (Four) with 34k miles. It's in very nice shape and I think I got a very fair deal. I put about 23k miles a year on my cars and I'm hoping this will last me at least until it's paid for. I've already started going through all the "Newbie" threads here, and I'm sure I'll be piping in in the Prius c sub-forum with lots of specific questions as time goes on. Just wanted to say 'hello'.
Welcome aboard. You very well may double the fuel mileage you've quoted for your Subaru. You'll find that stop and go is much less stressful in one of these cars. Where do you live in Massachusetts?
I live on the South Shore, near Plymouth. Commute to Brighton daily. Thank God for audiobooks. Oh, and thanks for the 'welcome'.
Hi Cutter44! Welcome to PriusChat. I just became part of the family as well, last month. I drive a bit for work, and do a lot of driving, in general. I hope you will be as pleased with your Prius as I am with mine!
Thanks, everyone. I have to admit, the more I'm reading through some off these threads here, the more I'm looking forward to being a Prius owner and I think I'll learn a lot here.
