Hey everyone! My Prius has 180,000 miles on it, and I just replaced the Drive Motor Inverter Cooler Water Pump. I was wondering what MIGHT (?) go next? (Trying to decide if I should get a new vehicle or not...) Thank you!
Did you remove the inverter to replace it? Or were you able to reach it be removing the head lamp assembly?
That's a significant possibility, especially if the manifold EGR passages haven't been cleared out. However, nobody knows what will go next.
It is called "preventive" maintainence for a reason. You replace parts and fluids BEFORE they break or break down, which could cause more damage.
Yeah assuming no EGR cleaning, I’d second @bisco. If you want to be proactive: replace engine coolant pump (aka water pump) and thermostat? There’s been lots of reports, failures around your miles.
