I was coming home from work on I-5 driving on the slow lane 1-2 miles over the speed limit. Then I saw a C-MAX speeding up from behind and started to tailgate me. After about 2 mins, I got a little irritated and started using my window washer for a good 5 secs. He then cutoff another car (another Prius) on the middle lane and passed my car just enough to cut me off and started using his hazards. Well, Game On. I press my Power button and started our battle. To my surprise the Prius that the C-MAX cutoff before me joined into the fray. Long story short we ended up working together and boxed the C-MAX in and started driving 5 miles below the speed limit. I couldn't count the number of honks and hand gestures came from the C-MAX driver. ::High five:: my fellow Prius comrade. I hope you are on this forum. When I got home I had to refill my window washer fluid, as I used up the rest of it when we were boxing the C-MAX in This is so ironic as I have just commented on "Prius a moron magnet" thread before I left work.
I agree it was immature and dangerous, but I didn't get shot at and blown up in Iraq for a year just to have a little guy pick on me on the highway. Tailgating in Iraq means a possible attack. Even though I am back in the states for awhile now, somethings still triggers the fight in me. It will take me a little more time to settle down.
Oh, one of them Fix Or Repair Daily. I will never own a Ford, I don't want to be associated with bad taste.
Believe me, I'm getting there myself. Since I've bought the Prius, I have been driving much more conservatively. I very rarely have road rage incidents even before the Prius. BTW your threads on tires and wheels helped me out alot, thanks.
All you little boys step aside. When I blow pass all of you in my Ferrari at 180 mph the turbulence will blow all of you in the ditch. LOL! I enjoyed reading it, good job!
I shouldn't say this on a Prius forum or to a guy that drives a Ferrari, but The Ford GT 500 is still one of my all time Favs.
No worries, I was just thinking about buying one as a keeper. They hold their value really well. Several of my friends own them. Have you seen this video? This is one of the most intense and exciting video I've seen for years.
BTW, I have the same exactly radar detector. A Valentine V1, the noise you heard on the video was the laser warning, in the real world it pretty much means you are SOL!
Nuts, I would have just taken the 300 dollar ticket. As good as a driver that he was, he still could have caused others to get into a deadly accident. I'll take the ticket over vehicular homicide any day. Fun video to watch, but man, passing on the break down lanes...
2013 Ford C-MAX | Maximize Your Lifestyle With The New C-MAX Hybrid or C-MAX Energi | Ford.com We still don't know what's going on w/Ford's recent hybrid high EPA ratings. Despite the C-Max being rated 47 mpg combined per EPA rating vs. 42 mpg combined of the Prius v, Head to Head C-MAX MPG shootout vs. Prius liftback & Prius v | PriusChat was one of a bunch of tests random people have done showing the Prius v in the "real world" beats the C-Max in mileage. The Most Fuel-Efficient Cars | Best Cars for Gas - Consumer Reports shows another result: again, Prius v's overall mileage is higher than C-Max in their tests. Neither of these are anything like the EPA test cycles...
Actually from the video you can tell the driver never had any professional race track training, look at where he placed his hands on the steering wheel.
The class action lawsuit over mileage claims would probably get thrown out. But at least, the rest of the would-be consumers received a warning.
Actually the only car we need to watch out for is the Chevy Volt. Several people I know owns one and are getting around 100 mpg consistently. Although I can take them off the line and in the handling area, but they are smoking me with their MPG. I know there is the plug in model, but....
