Hi All, Stopped by my local Toyota dealer (Claremont Toyota, Claremont, California) today and saw that they had 4 Package 6's on the lot, so being the snoopy sort and thinking that someone here might be interested in what they had to offer I went to check them out. They had a Salsa, a Seaside, a Black and a Silver. The Salsa and Seaside both had an additional dealer markup listed on the window sticker making the cars $29,999 a $3257 markup. The black and silver were just priced at MSRP ($26,742). I am not sure if the markup is due to the gas price rise or to the rarity of the colors. I think you would be able to talk them down to MSRP on any one of the four if you go through the Fleet Sales Department (Dave). I left there glad to have purchased when we did. Take care, Tisza
I was also by my dealer today and found that they have 5 on the lot unclaimed. Said that they no longer have a waiting list. This was at Fremont Toyota in (duh!) Fremont CA. I saw a black one and a blue one but didn't check prices - it was raining pretty hard.
Some dealers are oinkers! No two ways about it. I wish that the car companies would get rid of them. They are always on the bottom of the most untrusted list. Sell cars like beans. I know I am a "socialist". I assure you as a graduate of Hillsdale College my conservative credentials are impeccable (even if I was one of the 7 young democrats in 68!). I just hate dealers, don't trust them never will.
