New to the forum and this my first post and hopefully more to come. Long story short, I just picked up a 2012 Prius Plug-in Advance in Blizzard White Pearl for $37,900 + $500 cash back. Not sure what everyone paid for their PIP but I believe mine was a good deal. Didn't get a chance to charge the car, I have two other cars sitting in the garage so i have to figure something out. Hoping to charge the car this weekend, so I'll be driving it in hybrid mode for now. Can't wait and see how much gas money I'll be saving!
Congratulations! You can see what people paid by checking out the spreadsheet that's linked in the FAQ in my sig. For California, you got a pretty good deal
Can you give us some more details about the price? IE which dealership, how much after tax title license, what was the price of the car before the 500 cash etc etc. about to pull the trigger on one too! Thanks and see you on the road
welcome to club! if it were me, i would have had an extension cord out into the driveway the minute i got home. all the best.
Although the manual says not to, a few of us have used extension cords to plug the charging cord into. Just be sure to get an extension cord that can handle 15A. The one I was using, I picked up from Home Depot for about $25 if I recall correctly. In my case, I had a 15A circuit in the garage that was dedicated to the sprinkler timer which I used for a few months before getting a dedicated EVSE.
I'm sure there are a few public charging stations near your home or office. Some may be low cost and others completly free. I'm sure it is a matter of time before you know all the places.
Congrats on the new ride. Be sure to sign up with the Blizzard Brigade. Introducing the Blizzard Brigade | Page 40 | PriusChat
I haven't had a chance to read the manual but I'll find some time this weekend to do so. While I'm at it, I should pick up an extension cord as well.
As a new Prius owner I expect that you would become a subject matter expert on this topic soon. Making Whoopee in a Prius ? | PriusChat
