Well, I just used my extended warranty to have the HVAC display replaced. The background field was badly distorted but nothing wrong with it’s operation. It just bugged me. To make a long story short, the cost of that little display head was over $500. The total bill (which I didn’t have to pay) was $544. Although that amount was about one quarter of the cost of the coverage, I still feel it was worth it. Ask me if it was worth the money before the repairs and I would have said, “ Hell No!”.
It had been that way for a long time. When the Sun was just right it became very obvious. It wasn’t caused by heat. It was just a manufacturing defect I guess.
