Got an email from Kearny Mesa Toyota, in San Diego. They are offering $2500 off MSRP for a Prius Package #2. Unfortunately they only have three at this price (2 silver, and one blue), and that was yesterday. The dealer quoted me $21,147 (23,098.21 OTD), which is by far the cheapest quote I have received in Southern California. Anyway, we are looking for one in Grey, and SD is a bit far of a drive, but I thought this may help someone else.
Kearny Mesa Toyota is where I bought mine. The internet manager I worked with is Howard Sheehy. At the time (April 2005) they were selling for MSRP when many dealers were adding mark-ups because of the demand. If they say they have three for $2500 off, then they do. Until they're sold. They don't do bait and switch or jerk you around just to get you there.
Sounds like a good deal. $2,500 off MSRP! Makes me wonder about whether they'll be dealing harder up here in Seattle in the next week with plenty of units on the lots and August just days away. We've got plenty of Magnetic Gray on the lots up here, actually most colors are sitting on the lots, except the ext/int/pkg combination we want. Isn't that how it goes? Good luck!
