Knocking noise once the Prius is turned off

    What would cause a knocking noise once the Prius (2007) is turned off? I have never noticed this kind of noise in the past.

    The coolant thermos pump runs after the car is shut off. It should make a whirring sound not knocking.

    Thanks for the response. Diffently a knocking sound and it also appears to be from the rear of the vehicle?

    The only thing that moves in the rear is the HV battery cooling fan. Open the vent and check for something that is hitting the fan blades.
