Any opinions on Meguiar's, Lexol, Turtle Wax, Armor All, and boutique brands like Leatherique (horrible website), etc... ? TIA
Ok, I'll go first. Used Lexol cleaner pH then conditioner on motorcycle leather jacket and pants. One section lightly soiled and takes some rubbing, but the cleaner worked well. Leather feels great after conditioning without any greasy or waxy feel. Have a bottle of Meguiar's Gold Class 'rich leather' cleaner conditioner. Probably had it 4 years, maybe shelf life is up, but results not so good. Cleaned easily but left a slick shiny residue which didn't like. With all the positives on Amazon, will stick with Lexol for now.
There are some odd boutique brands, particularly Leatherique that gets a lot of mentions on BMW and high end car forums, but their website is so weird I don't care to read up on it. I don't know that Lexol is the best, but you certainly can't go wrong with it. I would be interested to see a bit of UV protection built into it, but they said with the separate products, customers don't want them to change the formula. They mentioned the 3 in 1 Lexol already has some UV in it or will have that soon.
Zaino Leather in a Bottle has SPF 40 Ultra-Guard UV protection, but that's pretty much redundant as the Prius glass already has 89-100% UV cut rate depending on glass location. That's what I use myself. Smells great and mild enough to use as a hand lotion.
