I’ve noticed on the official USA Toyota website that the leather trim option (NW package) seems to have changed. I now see a leather material with small perforations. Didn’t earlier versions have a solid leather?
Small perforations are so the leather doesn't heat up too much against your body. This way it's more comfortable like the cloth. even the cloth seats have little indents... that tiny amount makes it feel more aired out. I know the cloth works well lie this. I used to be in my car for 8 hours a day driving... i've done many long trips at 21 strait hours. wish i had the leather though. it looks cool.
Factory leather has only been available on the Prius beginning with the ‘06 model year. The perforated leather is OEM. All other types of leather are port, dealer or aftermarket installations.
