OK, I've searched and found things similar but I'm looking for which wire in the kickpanels on the driver or passenger footwells do what. - I'm looking to see if one of those goes to the dome? - is there anyway to tap into the power location where the factory footwell illumination would have gone? Thanks in advance
The foot well lights are independent from the dome light. They are only on at night when the parking lights are on. When in park, the foot well lights are on full brightness. Once u go into drive, they dim. Not sure what ur goal is, but hope this helps. VS980 4G ?
N2MPG, Did you find an answer to your question? I too have been searching here and on the web without luck. The closest I've come is someone installing the lighted door sills tapped to a white wire with a red stripe and another white wire with a yellow stripe. But I haven't been able to confirm.
the easiest way would be to run the wire from the actual dome light if you are not able to find the wires in the kick panel
Wouldn't tapping the dome light circuit result in them only turning on when the door is open? This wouldn't allow the to be on at night. Why not just tap into the parking light circuit VS980 4G ?
On that thought, one could use a relay wired to the brown wire referenced in the oem foglight installation instructions that would be powered when either the parking/headlights are on. SCH-I535
I found that illusive negative (-) dome light wire, in the driver's foot panel. Follow the link below for pics. Footwell Lighting tied to Dome Light how-to | PriusChat
