Let me get the 10K Oil chage interval right

    I have read many many posts about this subject but I still am not sure what the real deal is. Please advise me which of the following is true.
    1. - The oil change interval has been officially changed to 10K.
    2. - The oil change interval has been officially changed to 10K after the first one at 5K.
    3. - The oil change interval is still officially at 5K.

    According to the Vehicle Service Information on the Toyota web site, the interval for oil and filter change is every 5000 miles. I don't see any reference to higher mileage intervals. Toyota Parts and Service

    Yes I think for US cars it is 5K but Europe cars 10K. Go figure.

    The reason for the confusion is that the change to synthetic oil was not announced 'til the release of the vehicle and the local stores were not given any warning of the change.

    It's official now but not official in writing yet....except that some regions do have the official direction in writing...but some don't yet. Patience. It will be sorted out shortly.
