Apple CarPlay | Lexus+Alexa - Multimedia Enhancement Apparently for $199 you can now get Apple CarPlay and Lexus+Alexa installed on your 2018 Lexus. This might be a nice addition to my wife’s NXh. Of course I’m torn between Lexus Enform or Apple CarPlay. Ha ha NOT! All the other Lexus apps will still work like Remote, Roadside Assistance and even Scout GPS. Unsupervised!
Ok took the plunge and got this for my wife’s birthday. The dealership said they would install it for free, so an even better deal. It takes about 2 hours to install, but in the course of installing it, they blew the head unit. One week and a replacement head unit later I was taken off the “folded arm stare” watch and all is better with the world. In the meantime they had loaned me a RX350, which my wife said was “logey” compared to her NXh, and it did not spare me the “have you heard anything” nightly request and subsequent call. Of course there was no cost in any of this, except the increased heat from my darling bride. It uses a lightning cable and does not use Bluetooth to access. Everything else works and Scout GPS has been quickly forgotten. Best of all she likes it. iPad ? Pro
My wife loves her RX450h. The rx350 has the old school transmission, and it feels archaic . If she had the RX450h as the loaner, you might have avoided the ordeal.
