Hey gang, My wife and I test drove a used Prius this weekend. While we were driving it, an orange light came on the instrument panel. It looked like a snow flake and a road. I assume this is the traction control, but wanted to get someone else's "master" opinion. I know I could look in the book but since we have not bought the car I don't have the manuel. Also, the light did not stay on. It came on and off, but we weren't on ice or gravel or anything. It seemed to come on when we would give it a good amount of power. Is this okay? thanks jared
well i do remember seeing a bank sign for 39 degrees this weekend, perhaps that was it... that is crazy! what a cool feature... so it gives you a warning when it is cold outside?
Yeah, I guess 37 degrees is the point when bridges and highways may freeze or black ice may form. In the 2006, there is no snowflake, just the screen has a drop down box with the temp. They put the snowflake back in for 2007
<_< Interesting post... I had thought the "snowflake on highway" light on the panel had been eliminated in the 2007's. From this thread, it appears that light comes on briefly. In the 2004 I owned, it stayed on as long as the temperature was 37º F or below. In my 2007, a brief banner comes on the MFD for a few seconds when 37º F is reached. I can't recall seeing the 'showflake' light stay on.

<_< Tom... Jared's OP is a little confusing... The avatar ID indicated "2007 Prius" - I suppose your COULD buy a used 2007. Just an oversight by the OP, I suppose.
sorry guys, i will get on that to change the 07 to 05 <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Charles Suitt @ Mar 6 2007, 02:00 PM) </div>
