My 2017 is not burning oil that I am aware of. But all the talk of having to keep topping the motor oil might end up having a solution after all? Has anyone tried "Liqui Moly Motor Oil Saver". Amazon reviews are nearly 5 stars and some claim zero leaks after use. The bottle claims to start working after 500 miles. Is this the magic bottle to oil consumption? We are talking lots of 5 star reviews that claim it is. They also have the Anti-Friction version. I'm going to start adding both as 'preventive measure'. Amazon.com: Customer reviews: Liqui Moly 2020 Motor Oil Saver - 300 ml Not a single review from a Prius owner.
LiquiMoly has been around since the 1960s as an engine, transmission, and transaxle anti-friction additive.
Even if they carry the same company label........it is NOT a good idea to dump more than one additive at a time into your oil or gas. I do not think that 2017 models are afflicted with the excessive oil usage problem. Maybe because they don't have enough miles yet. Or maybe because those engines are of a different design. I suspect that someone else will clarify. IF and when you do start noticing increased oil usage, switching to a "high mileage" oil would be a better idea than making your own guess as to what might help the situation.
